Wieland is hiring a Maintenance Technician. The Maintenance Technician will serve to independently and collaboratively troubleshoot industrial electromechanical systems and machinery, operating within the maintenance department. This role will be fully on-site. Responsibilities

Maintenance Technician Responsibilities:

Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

• Interface with machine operators to understand and determine the cause of machine issues.
• Ensure operation of machinery and other production equipment by completing preventive maintenance.
• Proficient in the use of hand and power tools.
• Able to diagnose defective mechanical parts, and disassemble the components for repair using hoists, fork lifts, and other equipment.
• Fabricate and/or repair machine parts using measuring devices, mills, lathes, and welders.
• Observe all OSHA and NFPA regulations at all times, and wear proper PPE at all times.
• Coordinate with all departments, supervisor, and department manager.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

No supervisory responsibilities are assigned. Exercises independent judgement regarding assigned responsibilities and consults manager in situations that would have a significant impact on machine availability.

Maintenance Technician Qualifications:

To perform this job successfully an inpidual must be able to perform their essential duties satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and ability required. • Experience maintaining or repairing industrial manufacturing equipment.
• Good problem solving and technical skills.
• Fabrication and welding experience.
• Able to read electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic diagrams.
• Functional knowledge of and experience troubleshooting electromechanical systems.
• Good computer and data entry skills.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Able to juggle multiple projects simultaneously.
• Proficient in the use of hand and power tools.
• Own a stocked toolbox that can be stored onsite.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• Highschool diploma required.
• Post highschool education is a plus.
• Three years of experience working in industrial facilities.

  • Periods of standing, walking, negotiating stairs, ladders, elevated catwalks and platforms.
  • Walking over uneven and/or slippery surfaces.
  • Exposure to production environments that are not temperature controlled.
  • Occasionally lift up to fifty pounds.
